I’m here to share my passion for grilling with everyone who loves great food and good times! Our space is all about fun and socialising, with a variety of grills to cook on, a fully licensed bar pouring local craft beers, paired wines, and unique spirits from nearby distilleries.We only use the best locally sourced meat, fish, and veg - it’s our promise! Grilling isn’t just about food; it’s about connecting with friends in a laid-back, fun atmosphere. Whether you want to master smash burgers, perfect sizzling steaks, or wow with grilled lobster tails (my wife’s favourite when I’m in trouble!), I’ve got you covered.Oh, and vegetarians and vegans? You’re not forgotten—I’ve got some incredible plant-based dishes too! Join us solo or bring the whole gang for an unforgettable grilling experience.
Our Venue
Age Restriction: Please note that, for insurance purposes, all guests must be aged 16 or over or accompanied by a responsible adult.
Course Info: Our 3 Course Gourmet and 3 Course Basic Classes run alternate Saturdays from 10am – 2pm.
Our Ultimate Burger Class runs on the last Friday of each month 6pm – 8pm. Exclusive classes can be scheduled outside of these times for groups of 6 or more, subject to availability. Corporate classes and private hire events can be booked through sarah@hoggysgrill.com
Hoggy’s Classes
Our grill classes have something for everybody! From the absolute BBQ novice to the grill supremo, we guarantee that everyone will leave having learnt something new!
Book nowOur Basic and Gourmet Classes are both 4 hours long and feature a 3 course meal. Each starts with a welcome drink and BBQ nibbles. You will then be given the grand tour of Hoggy’s Grill with an opportunity to ask questions about each and every grill we have on offer.
Next, it’s time to don the aprons and get prepping the ingredients in your individual food boxes, accompanied by your favorite tipple should you so wish!
Grill time!!!!! Choose your weapon and get cooking. You can use your favourite grill or a combination of BBQs to test which suits you best! Hoggy will ensure that advice and guidance is always on hand!
Now for the best part; sit down, relax with a glass of wine and enjoy the meal you have expertly cooked! Two drinks are included in your package but there is always more on hand if you need a top up!
If you’re struggling to find 4 hours in your busy schedule, join us on our Ultimate Burger course. Just 2 hours out of your day and you can learn to grill your very own magical burger creation! We’ve had some weird ones but nothing is off limits!
We cater for everybody, not just the meat eaters! Fish, vegetarian and vegan menus are always available; just inform us before your visit! All we ask from you, is that you are over 16 and come with a large appetite! Nobody leaves hungry!

Situated within the beautiful family run Rutland Nursery, Hoggy’s Grill is based in the rolling hills of Rutland on the south shore of Rutland water. Rutland is England’s smallest and arguably prettiest county and is a perfect rural escape. Rutland offers accommodation options to suit all tastes and budgets from family friendly campsites and glamping to cosy country pubs to stunning luxury hotels. Rutland Water itself welcomes over 2 million visitors every year and offers a whole host of both water based and on-shore activities including cycling, fishing and sailing. Hoggy’s Grill is proud to offer another string to Rutland’s bow and we look forward to welcoming you to our unique venue.
